Introducing Nevada Humane Society’s Pets of the Week: Three Chinchillas!
Looking for a fluffy, playful companion? Meet Pepper, Penny and Chili, three adorable chinchillas who are ready to hop into their forever homes. These sweet little bundles of joy are as charming as they are unique.
Chinchillas are known for their soft fur, playful personalities, and love for dust baths! Dust baths help keep their skin and fur healthy and clean. However, the dust can cause airway irritation for other small pets.
To help keep our other small pets safe and healthy, our chinchillas currently take up entire rooms to themselves, making space for new furry friends pretty tight. By adopting one (or two!) of these cuties, you’re not only gaining a delightful companion but also helping us make room for more pets in need.
Pepper and Penny are 1-year-old bonded sisters who are inseparable and looking for a home where they can stay together. Their beautiful bond is something we’d love to see continue in a loving home.
Chili, a 2-year-old male, may take a little time to warm up to new environments, but once he’s comfortable, his playful personality shines.
Chinchillas are easy to love and fun to care for! They’ll need dust baths a couple of times a week to keep their fur clean and oil-free, toys like wood and cardboard and a simple diet of pellets and hay, and plenty of daily socialization.
A tall, multi-level cage in a cool space is also a great way to give plenty of space for them to jump, climb, and play. To help make sure you and your new best friend are set up for success, our team is here to help provide any guidance you may need as you welcome them home!
Stop by our Carson City campus at 549 Airport Rd to meet them today. And here’s the best part: now through Tuesday, 9/23, their adoption fees are waived! Don’t miss this chance to welcome these lovable chinchillas into your life!
