UPDATE 6:55PM: Central Lyon Fire and Carson City Fire Department were called Sunday evening to a fire, reportedly involving multiple vehicles, in the area of the water tower in Dayton. The fire has since been knocked down. The cause is under investigation.
The fire was reported at around 5 p.m. Carson City Fire Department was dispatched for mutual aide and sent a brush unit. The fire was located in the area of Cemetery Hill behind the water tower.
According to Carson City dispatch, Lyon County dispatch advised there are two RVs and other vehicles on fire.
Eastern Sierra Fire and Ice, which tracks fires in the region, reports there was an RV on fire that spread to adjacent vehicles. Per incident command, there is no extension into vegetation at this time.
As of around 5:55 p.m. An alertwildfire.org camera on the fire shows the heavy smoke over the fire has lifted.

People are advised to stay clear of the area to allow firefighters and other emergency vehicles into the fire area.
