Baily Pond in Fuji Park has been placed under a Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB) Watch Advisory according to the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Officials said visual assessments this week indicated a possible bloom, which could cause series health issues.
Fuji Park Pond was built in 2010, but was renamed Baily Fishing Pond in early 2011. It is located in Carson City at the bottom of Clear Creek in Fuji Park and is managed by Carson City Parks and Recreation.
The HAB warns against both humans and animals interacting with the water; anyone who sees water that looks discolored or smells bad should stay away.
