VIRGINIA CITY, Nev. — Storey County Health & Community Services is expanding its popular Farmers Market Voucher program to include all Storey County residents while supplies last.
Originally launched last month for seniors, the program provided vouchers that could be used like cash at four participating local farmers markets. With a limited number of vouchers still available, the county is now offering them to all residents on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Fresh, locally grown produce is an important part of a healthy diet, and this program helps make it more accessible for our community,” said Stacy York, Director of Health & Community Services. “We’re excited to open this opportunity to all Storey County residents so more households can enjoy what our local farmers have to offer.”
Program Details:
- Limited supply remaining — first come, first served
- One group of vouchers per household
- Must be a Storey County resident
Valid at the following locations:
- Sparks United Methodist Church
- Carson City Farmers Market
- Dayton Farmers Market
• Vouchers must be picked up in person at the Virginia City Senior Center, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (100 Mill Street, Virginia City, NV 89440)
Residents interested in receiving vouchers should visit the Virginia City Senior Center as soon as possible to ensure availability.
