Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called to a small kitchen fire Monday afternoon in the 47 block of Clear Creek Avenue in south Carson City.
The call came into dispatch at around 3:30 p.m. The reporting party told dispatch the fire started after plastic was left in an oven, which then caught on fire. Occupants of the single wide mobile home evacuated and arriving fire department personnel arrived to smoke in the home and were able to snuff the flames in time to keep the fire from spreading.
Other engines called to the fire have been canceled.
