Domestic Battery second, DUI, violation of release conditions
— A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested for domestic battery second, DUI first, open container, and violating DAS conditions after deputies received a report of a fight between a man and a woman.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the woman who said her husband had hit her and left the property. She said they had been arguing “over a piece of steak, and he began to throw her around” where she landed on the ground.
She told deputies he then punched her in the face and “ripped off her hair,” then “shoved a bowl of corn on her face,” and she threw it back at him.
She said she left the trailer but realized she’d forgotten one of her slippers and returned, only to find it locked. She told deputies she tried to force the door open. While this was occurring, she said the man “opened the door and kicked her in the face,” and she fell back onto the neighboring trailer.
She said she entered the trailer to look for her slipper, but never found it, and the man left the scene.
Deputies said they observed redness on her left side and upper chest, and had several injuries on both her arms. She showed deputies the “clump of hair” that the man had ripped from her head.
Deputies spoke with a witness who said they had seen the fight, and witnessed the man pushing and hitting the woman with his fist more than once on her upper body.
Deputies located the vehicle and made contact with the man who was in a vehicle in a casino parking lot on E. William Street. The man was detained, and several empty shots of 99 bananas were located “in close proximity.”
The man had red watery eyes, slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol. He first told deputies he didn’t remember what had happened, and that the woman “had just started going crazy” and denied being physical.
Deputies asked how she was injured, and he said he didn’t know, and that “she pushed herself.”
The man was taken into custody for domestic battery second, due first, driving with an open container, and violating conditions of DAS — all misdemeanor offenses.

Knife fight
— A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2600 block of Northgate Lane for felony assault with a deadly weapon and battery after allegedly striking a victim in the face with a knife.
According to the arrest report, Michael Holloman was arrested after deputies were dispatched to Northgate Lane at around 11 a.m. Friday morning on report of a possible assault with a deadly weapon.
The reporting party stated that both individuals associated in the altercation had left on foot heading southbound.
Deputies were able to locate the victim on the corner of Northgate and Hot Springs Road and noted he had a large laceration above his left eyebrow, and stated the other man (later identified as Holloman) had “pulled a knife on him” and struck him in the face.
An ambulance was called to provide medical attention for the victim while deputies continued to search the area.
Deputies located Holloman sitting at a booth inside a diner on N. Carson Street with a large knife attached to his right hip.
Holloman was taken into custody, and told deputies that he had known the victim for a few weeks when the victim was homeless, and Holloman had allowed him to sleep in his motel room for a few days to shower and eat.
He told deputies that the victim had robbed him of cannabis and clothing, but that he’d never reported it.
He said when he saw the victim that morning, he confronted him about the theft, at which point he claimed the victim “came towards him in a threatening manner” according to the report, and that Holloman had pulled his knife “as a deterrent.”
Holloman said he then left on foot, and the victim followed him down the street toward the diner and “charged him” on his bicycle. Holloman said he had to defend himself, and when the victim got off his bicycle, he stumbled and fell to the ground, and when he did, Holloman hit him.
At the hospital, the victim told investigators that he did not know Holloman, and that he’d “came up to him out of nowhere” and started to argue with him. He said Holloman then pulled a knife on him and punched him in the face.
Deputies were able to obtain video footage from a business in the area, and described the video footage as follows:
The victim is standing in front of the business by himself. Holloman appears from the south side of the building and appears to be yelling at the victim. Holloman then gets into the victim’s face and strikes him in the face with his hand. The victim then attempts to strike Holloman back. Holloman then pulls the knife from a holster on his right hip and holds the knife as if he were going to lunge toward the victim. As this happens, the victim backs up and moves away. Both Holloman and the victim leave on foot southbound.
Holloman was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and battery.

Bail: $10,000
— A 40-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 3000 block of S. Carson Street for Grand Larceny of a motor vehicle and driving with a revoked driver’s license.
According to the arrest report, Stephanie Kay Douglas was arrested Friday afternoon after deputies were dispatched to Corbett Street on report of a vehicle that had been stolen three days prior.
Deputies spoke with a man who said he’d gone to the Carson City Nugget three nights prior with a younger woman that he thought was named one name, but was later identified as Douglas.
He said they were at the bar when the bartender noticed Douglas had a bottle of alcohol that was not sold there, and they were asked to leave. The man told Douglas they could go to his house.
He said after about half an hour, Douglas told him she needed to pick up a friend, and since he had been drinking and didn’t want to drive, he said he allowed her to take his car.
He told deputies Douglas said she’d be back in 20 minutes, but “had yet to return.”
Investigators reviewed traffic cameras and noticed a recent hit of the vehicle traveling southbound on Carson Street from Second Street. Deputies traveled south on S. Carson Street and observed the vehicle on Frontage Road at Sonoma Street.
Deputies stopped the vehicle and spoke with Douglas, who said the man was lending her the vehicle so she could move. When deputies told her what the man had said, and that he’d reported it stolen, she said it wasn’t true. She said she’d tried to return the car the day before, but the man wasn’t at home.
Deputies tried to contact the man to ask more questions to confirm Douglas’s story, but he did not answer. They asked Douglas how long she knew the man, and she said “a little while.”
Deputies took the woman into custody, and while this was occurring, a friend of Douglas’s was walking by, and she requested that her bike and other belongings go with him. The vehicle was towed.
Deputies later were able to speak with the man who said he had seen Douglas around prior, but had never spoken with her before May 13. They asked if he’d permitted Douglas to use the vehicle to move, and he said they’d talked about it but he never allowed her to use the car for those reasons.
He said she was only permitted to drive the car to pick up a friend and then return it twenty minutes later.
Douglas was booked on felony grand larceny of a motor vehicle and driving with a revoked driver’s license.
Bail: $10,777
Possession, paraphernalia
— A 32-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 2100 block of E William Street for possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia after sleeping in her car in a casino parking lot.
According to the arrest report, deputies were patrolling in the area Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m. when they observed a woman asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
Deputies attempted to wake the woman, and after knocking on the window, they said she woke up startled.
She opened the car door and deputies asked if she was okay, but the woman seemed “confused and disoriented and had a difficult time answering questions” according to the report.
Deputies asked why she was sleeping in the parking lot, to which she said she didn’t know. They then asked if she had any ID, and she said no and began going through her purse.
They asked if there were any weapons in the car, and she said no. Finally, deputies asked if there were any illegal drugs in the car, and the woman “took a long pause, looked at me, and said yes.”
Deputies said she “held a paper towel in her hand, which she later dropped to the floor.”
The woman was asked to step out of the car and was placed in handcuffs while a Deputy K-9 was dispatched to the scene.
While waiting for the Deputy K-9, deputies asked the woman what narcotics she usually uses, and she told them she smokes methamphetamine but recently started using fentanyl.
Deputy K-9 Dakota arrived on scene and conducted a free-air sniff of the car, resulting in a positive alert.
Inside the paper towel the woman was holding, deputies located a clear pipe with “possible fentanyl and methamphetamine residue.”
Inside the woman’s purse they located three clear bags containing a white powdery substance which tested positive for methamphetamine.
They also located a bag with aluminum foil and a white powdery substance, and the woman advised if there were any fentanyl left in the car it would be in the aluminum foil. Deputies did not open the foil “for their safety and that of their partners,” and took all evidence into custody.
The woman was taken into custody where she was transported to the hospital for medical clearance. Once cleared, she was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance second offense and possession of paraphernalia.

Smoking cannabis in public
— A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday around 11:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of N. Edmonds Drive Friday for possession of a controlled substance and smoking cannabis in public.
Deputies were patrolling the parking lot of a local casino when they saw a man sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle smoking out of a pipe. The deputy asked what he was doing, and the man said he was smoking cannabis with the driver of the vehicle.
Deputies also noted the man had an open beer between his legs.
Deputies advised the man that he’s not allowed to smoke cannabis in a public place, and asked him to exit the vehicle. While searching the man, deputies felt a “large bulge” in his pocket and asked what it was, and the man said it was his medication, and that he takes Oxycodone.
The man removed the bottle from his pocket, which was an all white container with no label. Inside the bottle deputies located 63 pink tabs of Oxycodone.
The man told deputies the original container was at home, and when told the medication needed to be in its original container, the man said he wasn’t aware.
Deputies took the man into custody and asked how much alcohol he’d consumed, to which he said a couple of beers. He consented to a PBT which resulted in a .098% BAC.
The man was taken into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail without incident.
Bail: $2,500.

Deputies were dispatched to the apartment complex on report of a squatter, and upon arrival found the door unsecured. After conducting a security sweep to ensure no one was in the apartment, deputies located “drug paraphernalia in plain view” on a shelf in the bedroom.
The apartment was unoccupied; however, the former tenant was located in the parking lot, who said he had not been in his apartment since his eviction two weeks prior, but was staying with a friend in the complex.
He showed deputies his eviction paperwork, which stated the eviction was due to his drug use.
According to the arrest report, he gave deputies permission to search his vehicle, and deputies located a black backpack containing a glass straw with white crystalline streaks inside of it, typically used for narcotics use.
