CARSON CITY, Nev. – Greenhouse Garden Center & Gift Shop, located at 2450 S. Curry Street in Carson City, is welcoming the spring gardening season with a full calendar of educational events and expert-led seminars throughout the month of May.

From tomatoes and roses to backyard birding and xeriscaping, there is something for every level of gardener to enjoy and learn.

Here’s the lineup:

  • May 3: Bonsai Club with Ken Jones (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM) – Learn the art of bonsai care and styling.
  • May 3: Dwarf Conifers with Brian (1:30 PM – 2:30 PM) – Discover compact evergreens perfect for small gardens.
  • May 10: Maximize Garden Space with Brian (9:30 AM – 10:30 AM) – Explore vertical gardening, succession planting, and container strategies.
  • May 17: Tomato Gardening with Tom (10:00 AM) – Learn how to grow tomatoes in Northern Nevada’s unique climate.
  • May 17: Giant Pumpkin Growing with Brian (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM) – Tips and tricks to grow prize-winning pumpkins.
  • May 18: Iris Gardening in Northern Nevada with Julie Ruf (10:30 AM) – Cultivate stunning, hardy irises that thrive locally.
  • May 24: Xeriscaping & Low-Water Gardening with Brian (10:00 AM – 11:00 AM) – Save water and beautify your yard.
  • May 25: Fresh Cut Flower Gardening with Tiffany (10:30 AM – 11:30 AM) – Grow gorgeous flowers for bouquets.
  • May 25: Backyard Birding Tour with Elona (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM) – Learn how to attract and identify birds in your garden.

All classes are just $5 per person, with proceeds going to local charities.

Events are held at Greenhouse Garden Center, 2450 S. Curry Street in Carson City.
