Carson City Youth Strings, Chorus and NQR Present “Around the World in Music” Thursday April 24th

CARSON CITY SYMPHONY’S YOUTH STRINGS, CHORUS, AND NQR PRESENT

“AROUND THE WORLD IN MUSIC,” THURSDAY, APRIL 24

Symphony Youth Strings, Symphony Youth Chorus, and Not Quite Ready for Carnegie Hall Players (NQR) present “Around the World in Music” on Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St., Carson City. These educational programs of the Carson City Symphony Association feature string instrument players and singers from Carson City and surrounding areas, including public-, private-, and home-schooled students, and adults, who will perform classics to folk tunes from many countries. Admission is free.

“Around the World in Music” is conducted by Carson City Symphony’s Education Director Micah Dunn, Lead Instructor Suzanne McGarraugh, Youth Chorus Director Nancy Jones, and other strings instructors. It includes beginning violinists and cellists; three student string ensembles; youth chorus ages 4 and up; and NQR adult intermediate strings.

“These musicians play a great variety of musical styles,” said David Bugli, Music Director of the Carson City Symphony. “The beginning strings students go on to play in our Youth Strings ensembles, and in the Carson City School District and Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestras.”
