A prisoner in the Carson City Jail was arrested Sunday for allegedly being in possession of heroin, methamphetamine and prescription drugs.
According to the arrest report, jail staff received a tip that Audrey Cherie Peebles had heroin and had used it earlier that afternoon. Staff then did a shakedown of all the prisoners in that unit, and found Peebles to be in possession of a ziplock bag with what appeared to be three full and two used balloons of heroin, a small amount of methamphetamine and two pills of suboxone.
When questioned, Peebles allegedly told deputies that she had come to the jail to visit her boyfriend that morning, but was taken into custody on a warrant for not completing her community service. She claimed to have hid the drugs in her pants to keep her boyfriend from discovering her drug use.
Peebles was arrested for two felonies, possession of a controlled substance and a prisoner in possession of a controlled substance, along with a gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $8,232.
