The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a non-compliant Tier-3 sex offender Friday in Yerington.
Deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Southern Command conducted a suspicious vehicle investigation in the Yerington area on Feb. 7. During the investigation, deputies contacted Jason Klipple, 44, who was found to be a Tier 3 registered sex offender, according to a LCSO news release.
Further investigation conducted with the assistance of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Task Force, revealed that Klipple was in violation of his legal requirements to register as a sex offender in Lyon County. It was also determined that Klipple, who is on active parole, was in violation of his parole conditions.
Klipple was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail on the following felony charges:
— One count of violation of sex offender registration requirements
— One count of violation of parole conditions
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Task Force is committed to ensuring that all registered sex offenders in Lyon County comply with their legal obligations. The Task Force conducts routine compliance checks to verify registration adherence, reinforcing its dedication to public safety. For those who choose not to meet their legal obligations, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office will take swift and decisive action to hold them accountable,” the LCSO release states. “The LCSO encourages community members to report any concerns or suspicious activity regarding sexual offender compliance. Together, law enforcement and the community can continue to promote safety and accountability throughout Lyon County.”
