By Michael Jensen — Spirit of Hope, established in 2010 in Carson City, provides affordable, clean, sober and family style housing to men and women facing challenges such as poverty, mental illness and aging who are on low fixed income.
While the residents pay rent, this Carson City Elks Community Grant of $3,000 will help Spirit of Hope pay for utilities at their 15 houses and 75 residents.
The Elks Community Grant is targeted for residents in this exact situation and Spirit of Hope is a worthy recipient for the work they do to alleviate the rising costs of utilities for their residents.
