By Amanda Jacobson — Friends in Service Helping (FISH) is thrilled to announce its annual Thanksgiving Dinner, a cherished tradition that has brought the community together for over 25 years. This free holiday event will take place on Thursday, November 28, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Plaza Conference Center, located at 211 East 9th Street, Carson City, NV.

This event is more than a meal — it is a celebration of connection, gratitude, and the joy of sharing a holiday table with friends, family, and loved ones. With the help of over 75 dedicated volunteers, FISH ensures that every guest experiences the warmth and comfort of the season, no matter their circumstances.

Guests can look forward to a delicious holiday feast featuring fresh turkey and all the classic sides, lovingly prepared by The Bus Boy Mobile Cuisine. The turkeys for this year’s dinner were generously donated by a local community member who believes in the importance of ensuring everyone has the opportunity to gather around a table in the spirit of giving thanks.

“For over 25 years, this event has been a testament to the power of community and compassion,” says Amanda Jacobson, Director of Development at FISH.

“Thanksgiving is about so much more than food — it’s about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and connected. It’s a reminder that we’re not alone, and there’s always a community ready to stand together in support and gratitude. None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our volunteers and donors, and we’re deeply honored to share this day of giving with our neighbors.”

FISH invites everyone to join in this long-standing tradition. Whether you come alone or with loved ones, you’ll be greeted with open arms and the warmth of the season.
