Charlene Gaworski has been assigned as Carson City’s new Chief Building Official, city officials announced Thursday.
Former Chief Building Official Shawn Keating has taken a job with the Washoe County Building and Safety Department. Gaworski is an employee of Charles Abbott Associates, which provides contract building permit services to Carson City.
Gaworski has lived in Minden and worked in the building services field in the region for more than 27 years. She spent 12 years with Douglas County and 12 years with Washoe County Building and Safety.
Her work with Washoe County included supervising the inspections division, plans review, and permit processing. She also managed the county’s satellite office in Incline Village. Gaworski has her certification as a Master Code Professional from the International Code Council.
