Here are photos taken by Suzanne Reiter Peckham of Carson City of the flooding and aftermath experienced Friday morning from the west side of Carson City.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will persist through Saturday morning especially in the Sierra and south of Highway 50. Light to moderate rain is beginning to taper off across the Tahoe Basin and western Nevada this afternoon.

Flood waters will be slow to recede through the weekend. Flooding will continue along some rivers and low lying areas. The flood warning continues for the Carson River near Carson City that will affect Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Churchill counties tonight as the river crests to flood stage.

Drier, cooler conditions are forecast for Sunday through at least mid week before the pattern becomes stormy again.
