We had a successful day at the New Year’s Day Topaz Lake opener. I fished with my friend Tom Blotter from Minden. We caught 19 fish with a few over the two pound range. We also caught something unexpected. A boat!

As we were trolling, we went by a fellow angler that was in trouble. His boat motor had stopped working and had only his trolling motor to keep him from crashing into the shore. We were glad to be there at the right time. We got a rope to him and towed him to the boat dock. More to report in the next fishing report article. Here’s last week’s article. In the meantime, here’s a picture of the four pound rainbow I caught and the boat.

If you get a photo of your catch send it to jeff@carsonnow.org. If you have a question or a fishing report in our area call the Naw line at 775-267-9722. I hope to see you on the waters, Good fishin’ and tight lines.
