My wife and I visited the Korean War Veterans Memorial at the end of east Fifth Street Monday afternoon.

My uncle-in-law, a U.S. Army combat veteran of the Korean War, helped to establish the memorial. His name is among several listed on the monument.

A word to veterans of the Korean War: You and your sacrifices are not forgotten.

I remember you.
