UPDATE 6:45PM: One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a crash involving five vehicles that happened just after 5 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Carson Street and Winnie Lane.
The crash involved a red Dodge Dakota, a blue Ford Mustang, a silver Honda, a red Jeep and a silver Mazda. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
It was originally reported as crash involving four vehicles.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called just after 5 p.m. Monday to a crash involving five vehicles in the area of Carson Street and Winnie Lane.

Traffic in the area is being diverted around the crash scene. Motorists can expect delays. Firefighters report at least two people have minor injuries, one caused from a seatbelt and another a person who had recent back surgery.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were also called just before 5 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash at Stewart Street and Wright Way.

Arriving firefighters on scene report both vehicles received moderate damage. Both drivers declined medical transport.
