No one was injured in an accident involving a school bus with 10 children inside and an SUV when it collided Friday afternoon, a Carson City sheriff’s office sergeant said.
The crash happened at the intersection of Nye and Bowers streets, with the bus making a left turn onto Bowers and the Ford Explorer SUV attempting to make a right turn at a stop sign, said Carson City Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott McDaniel.
The accident was reported at 3:43 p.m. The children as well as the bus driver were interviewed by sheriff’s deputies as was the driver of the SUV. Parents of seven of the elementary school children picked up their children, while three were taken home on another bus, said McDaniel.
Bowers is a narrow residential road off of Nye Lane. The accident is under investigation and the cause has not been determined, said McDaniel.
