INDIAN HILLS, NV — NAMI Western Nevada invites the community to attend its upcoming “May the 4th Be With You” Outreach & Projection Show, a free, family-friendly event taking place over four nights, May 1–4, 2026, at 3520 Tourmaline Drive in Carson City (on the same street as the well-known Candy Cane Lane).
This unique community event blends entertainment, outreach, and public safety awareness, offering something for all ages. Activities begin nightly at 7/7:30 p.m., with a special projection show starting at sundown and running until approximately 9:00 p.m.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences, including:
A themed projection show at nightfall
A 360 photo booth and themed photo opportunities with Jedi and Empire characters
S’mores and food trucks (varying by night)
Face painting provided by CAAST Sierra Tahoe
Live K9 demonstrations from local Northern Nevada law enforcement agencies each evening
Community resource tables featuring local organizations
AND MUCH MORE!
Special partners Blue Line K9 Foundation and Nevada Operational Canine Medical Group will be on-site with resource tables, providing information about their missions to support the health, safety, and readiness of K9 law enforcement teams across Northern Nevada.
While the event is free to attend, donations are welcomed and will directly benefit the Nevada Operational Canine Medical Group, helping ensure K9 handlers have access to critical medical kits and training for line-of-duty emergencies.
Community members are encouraged to attend in themed or “out of this world” attire, with lightsabers and costumes welcomed, adding to the festive and immersive atmosphere.
“May is Mental Health Awareness Month and what a way to launch it! This event is about bringing the community together in a fun, engaging way while also highlighting important resources and supporting the NAMI Mission and K9 law enforcement teams an,” said a NAMI Western Nevada representative.
