St. Mary’s Art Center Hosts 10th Annual Holiday Faire

St. Mary’s Art Center, a non-profit organization located in the former 1876 St. Mary Louise Hospital in historic Virginia City, is hosting its 10th Annual Holiday Faire on December 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and December 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event includes over 30 tables featuring art and artisan crafts from local and regional artists, refreshments, including a hot chocolate bar, and a silent auction.
Admission to the Faire is free, offering the community a unique opportunity to experience the work of talented artists, artisans, and authors. The Virginia City Tourism Commission Shuttle will offer convenient and free rides between St. Mary’s Art Center, Senior Center, C-Street, and more. Limited free on-site parking is available.
“Join us for a truly festive, art, craft, music and holiday spirit event throughout our beautiful historic building,” said A. Perry, Executive Director of St. Mary’s Art Center. “Purchase art and support our local and regional creative masterminds this holiday season.”
Visitors can expect an extraordinary range of gift options, including Native American beaded items and drums, paintings, photographs, woodwork, jewelry, cards and ornaments, knit and crocheted items, edible art, books, hand-dyed fiber arts, dolls, copper sculptures, gourd art, and more.
Perry said in addition to the artistic showcase, the Faire will feature a festive atmosphere and refreshments, making it an ideal outing for families and individuals alike. The event also includes a silent auction offering eclectic items, providing an additional way to support the St. Mary’s Art Center.
“This event is not just a celebration but also an embodiment of community spirit and the support of local and regional artisans,” Perry said. “St. Mary’s Art Center invites everyone to be part of this unique experience, immersing themselves in the festive atmosphere and discovering the perfect holiday gifts, all while supporting a vital cause. The Virginia City Senior Center Holiday Craft Faire will also be held on December 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and December 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Silver City hosts a Holiday Artisans Fair on December 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and December 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy three fantastic holiday fairs on the historic Comstock.”
