My name is Colleen Bannister and I am a personal trainer and the owner of the 6Weekworkout, the first indoor bootcamp facility in Carson City.

It’s the New Year and often we look for things we want to improve upon. One of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is weight loss or to improve our health.

The average person lasts only 3 weeks with their new quest for improvement. After 11 years as a personal trainer and my own personal battles I feel this failure is mostly due to working from the outside, rather than the inside out. What I mean to say is that we must first shift the way we view things before we can expect permanent or lasting change to occur outwardly.

Positive talk is not enough. Discipline is not enough. Nearly every goal we want ends in the desire to be happy. So one could say the goal for everyone is as simple as happiness and we each have a different map leading us all to the same destination. So how do we get from here to healthy or rather here to happy?
