Spirit of Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to providing critical housing stability services in Nevada’s capital city, is an organization that many may not know about, but they are changing lives and making a difference in the Carson City community.
Spirit of Hope is a Carson City-based nonprofit dedicated to providing housing stability and essential support services for individuals facing housing insecurity. It started in April 2014 by Ellen Jackson, who serves as executive director.
Spirit of Hope is an independent group living and sober living environment. They help those of all ages who have struggled with substance abuse, mental health issues or find themselves in need of a safe and secure place to live.
Through compassionate care and personalized programs, Spirit of Hope works tirelessly to create pathways toward sustainable housing and a brighter future, said Bailey Gonzales, who serves as a case manager and counselor as well as grants and fundraising.
It has nearly 80 clients who are housed at 15 locations around Carson City. Spirit of Hope clients live independently but are not, at this time, a direct care provider for day living.
They also work with disabled individuals who are capable of taking care of themselves but want a safe, structured living environment.
Looking ahead, Spirit of Hope would like to provide more direct service for the clients with events and outings in the future, said Gonzales.
To get the word out, Spirit of Hope has refreshed its brand identity through MCBCreative, Inc. to reflect the organization’s enduring commitment to keeping vulnerable community members safely housed and supported.
The branding change was driven by a desire to create a more unique and identifiable representation of Spirit of Hope’s mission.
“We are confident that this new brand tells a much clearer story about who Spirit of Hope is and how important our mission is to our community as a whole” said Ellen Jackson, Executive Director of Spirit of Hope. “It reflects the hope, stability, and resilience that guide every aspect of our work.”

The revitalization comes as Spirit of Hope continues to draw greater attention to the services they provide including clean and sober housing, case management and advocacy. The organization aims to strengthen its impact while fostering deeper connections with donors, volunteers, and the community at large.
With demands increasing and funding running low, Spirit of Hope is looking to the community so that it can continue to provide housing, stability and essential support services for individuals facing housing insecurity. To learn more or donate, visit Spiritofhopeincnv.org.
“we want to help people who need it the most,” said Gonzales.
