Update 1:30 p.m.: According to dispatch, forward progress has stopped, and the Record Courier reports at least ten residential units have burned.


According to East Fork dispatch, a major fire broke out this afternoon in Douglas County and spread to surrounding duplexes associated with the high winds.

Nearly 30 responding units are either on scene or have been dispatched to the 1200 block of Pit Road from East Fork, Carson City and Tahoe agencies.

According to the Record Courier, a number of residential units have or are actively burning.

Tillman and Kimmerling are closed to traffic.
