Rain showers continue Friday afternoon in the Carson City region with slick roads and chain controls in effect throughout the northern Sierra as snow falls today around Lake Tahoe.
Snow will continue to shift south through the day along the cold front. Travel restrictions are in place for Sierra passes and around Tahoe as snow accumulates on road surfaces. Carson City fire and ambulance were called to an accident at 1:22 p.m. in the westbound lane of Highway 50 near the Spooner Junction.
