First responders from around the area waited on diners at Bodine’s Casino and SlotWorld in Carson City Saturday, part of the Feast with a Hero fundraiser that raises money for the local Holiday with a Hero program.
The fundraiser continues all day Saturday until 8 p.m. Bodine’s and SlotWorld are donating 100 percent of the proceeds from both restaurants to Holiday with a Hero, which pairs first responders with needy children for a $100 Christmas shopping spree.
More than 250 children in the Carson City School District’s McKinney-Vento Students-in-Transition program are served each year.
