Sheriff’s officers, state troopers, National Guardsmen, and a plethora of other volunteers – and their charges – middle and high school students in need of a Christmas – converged at Wal-Mart at 9 p.m. Wednesday morning for the annual Holiday with a Hero event.

With 280 low-income students to help, this year’s shopping spree had to be broken up into two groups – one of middle and high school students, and one of elementary school students – spread out over two days.
