Today, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m., the NV0040P – Carson City Composite Squadron PCR-NV-047, Civil Air Patrol, will lead this effort locally by helping lay remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes at Carson City’s Lone Mountain Cemetery.

The community and volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to join Carson City and the Civil Air Patrol in this meaningful event. Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather, wear gloves and close-toed shoes.

With approximately 2,200 veterans at Lone Mountain Cemetery, it is imperative that every veteran is included as part of this event. Volunteers and wreath sponsors are critically needed to ensure every veteran receives a proper remembrance, which they deserve.

To volunteer, or sponsor a wreath ($17 each), please visit the Wreaths Across America website at: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/.

Wreaths Across America is a heartwarming, national volunteer initiative intended to remember fallen soldiers, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation the value of freedom. Across the nation, with thousands of simultaneous events from Arlington National Cemetery to Carson City’s Lone Mountain Cemetery, millions will receive a meaningful tribute for their dedication and sacrifice.
