Carson City area casinos saw a 8.58 percent increase in gaming profits during October, the Nevada Gaming Control Board said Monday.

Casinos in Carson City, Carson Valley, Minden and Gardnerville had a gaming revenue total of $8,740,668 for the month compared to October 2014 figures. Nevada Day festivities in the capital city likely translated to some the increase.

Statewide gaming revenue, also known as “gaming win,” decreased by 2.85 percent in October compared to 2014 figures.

Elsewhere around the region, casinos at Stateline, Lake Tahoe saw a 3 percent decrease, while casinos in North Lake Tahoe had an 2.58 increase. Casinos in Reno came in with a 6.90 percent increase and Sparks, 7.25.
