Dozens of families made up hundreds of runners and walkers of all ages who met under sunny skies at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City this Thanksgiving Day for the 2014 Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.

The 8K, 5K and Kids Gobble Wobble Fun Run, hosted by St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School, was designed for those who wanted to get some exercise ahead of the parades, pies, football games and big Thanksgiving Day meals. See the video below.

Participants were urged to bring non-perishable food for needy families in the Carson City, Douglas County and Dayton areas. A portion of the run’s proceeds will be donated to The Children’s Cabinet.
