Carson City, NV – Concerned about losing your hospital or doctors from your Medicare plan next year? Don’t worry, help is available. A series of informative meetings will be held on a drop-in basis where individuals can meet with local independent sales agents who will assist in choosing and enrolling in a plan that includes their hospital and doctors in-network for 2025.

On November 8 Carson Tahoe Health announced that the hospital and medical group contract with Aetna Medicare would end March 31, 2025. Citing payment problems from the insurance company, the health system urged Medicare enrollees to either return to Original Medicare or to choose one of two locally based Medicare Advantage plan carriers — either Prominence or Senior Care Plus.

Medicare Annual Enrollment period is ongoing until December 7. During this time Medicare Advantage plan enrollees are able to drop their plan and return to Original Medicare, or they may switch to a different Medicare Advantage or prescription drug plan. Changes made by December 7 go into effect January 1 for the 2025 plan year.
