Food for Thought would like to thank the Carson High School Football Program for hosting an outstanding food drive. In effort to return some support to the community the football program wanted to do something that would have a great, positive impact during their bye week. A few ideas were tossed around before settling on Food For Thought as the organization they would like to help out.

Food For Thought is a local organization that provides weekend food for school aged children in the community that are chronically hungry.

Team parent Kyme Brown helped organize the event with Food for Thought Executive Director Marlene Maffei.
The players were spoken to by head coach Blair Roman, about how fortunate they are to have a community that offers so much support to them.

Whether through donations, or packed stands at the games it is a great honor. Having the players give back was a great way to show them the importance of reaching out and helping those who are less fortunate. The program hosted a food drive bringing in 353 pounds of food. The challenge was to fill the truck, and together as a team giving back that is exactly what they did.

“I would like to personally thank coach Roman, the players and their families. As the players were filling the truck with bags of food the smiles on their faces along with the knowledge of whom their donation would be helping was great to witness. I truly hope they realize the impact of their donation. These boys should pat themselves on the back for a job well done and feel extremely proud for helping out”. Maffei said.

The organization is currently serving children in 13 local schools and every food donation or dollar donated counts.
