Local Freshies, in association with 4Frnt Skis, will host a two-stop movie premiere of “Here and Now,” along with “Tahoe: The Daily Routine,” in partnership with Basecamp Hotel & Diamond Peak.
Stops on the tour include:
— November 19: Basecamp Hotel, located 4143 Cedar Avenue in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. The event is free all ages.
— December 16: Diamond Peak Ski Resort, located at 1210 Ski Way in Incline Village, NV. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the films start at 6:30 p.m. with a $5 cover charge. This event is also winter season pass holder appreciation. Diamond Peak 2016-17 season pass holders will receive free entry and appetizers.
The main feature at both venues is “Here and Now,” 4Frnt’s sixth movie, which stresses that in a world where nearly everyone’s head is buried in a mobile device, our friendships and interactions between human beings are dwindling away. It’s up to us to change that and interact with each other by living in the here and now. This film showcases the skiing of Eric Hjorleifson, David Wise, Wiley Miller, Thayne Rich and Cam Riley with friends and their escape to the outdoors.
The bonus film showing on both dates is “Tahoe: The Daily Routine,” which focuses on how Lake Tahoe businesses have been faring through several mild ski seasons. After four dry winters and the negative media attention from a few of our favorite ski/snowboard magazines, many categorized Lake Tahoe as “dead.” We at Local Freshies® thought it was a perfect opportunity to make a short film highlighting the local businesses that give Lake Tahoe its flavor and show its culture is alive and well.
Raffle prizes will be awarded at the events. They are provided by 4Frnt Skis, Basecamp Hotel, Diamond Peak, Alibi Ale Works, Sierra at Tahoe, Homewood, Nature’s Bakery, Plus Skateboards, Rise Designs, Shoreline of Tahoe, Refuge Coffee, and TahoeLab. Get there early to enter for a chance to win.
These events will be the perfect mix of locals, snow, and fun to help kick off the ski season. Be sure to keep checking the Local Freshies web site here for more information on the tour as we get closer to these dates.
