This week on It’s Your City host Cortney Bloomer welcomes Valerie Dockery of the Carson City School District to discuss the recent partnership with Nevada Health Centers and its new health clinic that opened in conjunction with the school district.
Last month the Carson City School District and Nevada Health Centers joined forces to open the new school-based health center on Musser Street behind the Professional Development Center, formerly Gleason Elementary School.
See the video below.
“We are pleased to provide a school-based health center to our students and families through a partnership with Nevada Health Centers,” said Richard Stokes, Carson City superintendent of schools. “We are excited to see this project become a reality in our community and have already had a tremendous response from families making appointments at the new health center.”
Services available available include: preventive health and wellness, well child checks, sick visits, sports physicals, immunizations and health management. The center is available to families without students in the district.
The center hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-787-2568. Nevada Health Centers is a non-profit, federally qualified Community Health Center that provides access to quality health care throughout Nevada since 1977.
