For the second year, Nevada Day has its own brew to call its own, made at Carson City’s own Shoe Tree Brewing Company.

The Nevada Day Lager, brewed by co-owners and brother Paul and Jeff Young, was developed last year as a beer specifically for Nevada Day to share amongst friends and family.

Paul and Jeff both graduates from Carson High and have been life long Carsonites, so it seems fitting they’d be chosen to craft the official statehood celebration brew.

The beer is available at the Shoe Tree tap room, where you can buy 4 packs. It is also available on draft if you want to have a pint there.

“Unique about the particular brew is we use some barley and corn grown by Bently in Minden, so we get to use some Nevada grown stuff in it to pay tribute to Nevada on Nevada Day,” said Paul Young.

Also available at Shoe Tree and at the Nevada Day store are Nevada Day Lager apparel such as hats and shirts as well as Nevada Day-themed shirts and sweatshirts.

Shoe Tree Brewery is located at 1496 Old Hot Springs Road, Carson City. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. daily. Go here for more information about the Nevada Day Lager and other beers.

Official Nevada Day merchandise is available for those wanting to gear up for statehood Day at the Nevada Day Store, open daily, from 10 to 3 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store is located at 716 North Carson Street, near the Nevada State Museum. The store will be closed Saturday.
