The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the successful completion of the 2025 Multi-Agency K9 Competition, held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Fuji Park. The event brought together K9 units from across Nevada for a full day of skill demonstrations, teamwork, and community engagement.

This year’s competition showcased the exceptional capabilities of our law enforcement K9 teams across multiple disciplines, including Narcotics Detection, Explosive Detection, Agility & Obedience, and Patrol Scenarios. Attendance from the public was outstanding, and the event served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen interagency collaboration and highlight the professionalism of all participating teams.

K9 Competition Results:

Narcotics Detection

  • 1st Place: Storey County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Guy Jessop & K9 Luxx
  • 2nd Place: Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Salvator Derosa & K9 Chase
  • 3rd Place: Pyramid Lake Police Department Officer Hannah Zamora & K9 Lando

Explosive Detection

  • 1st Place: Capital Police Officer Kirk Stewart & K9 Honey
  • 2nd Place: Airport Police Department Officer Matt Lietz & K9 Dingo
  • 3rd Place: US Navy Officer Eryk Weber & K9 Maxo

Agility / Obedience

  • 1st Place: US Navy Officer Conor Dickens & K9 Tallahassee
  • 2nd Place: Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Matt Galvin & K9 Blady
  • 3rd Place: Storey County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Guy Jessop & K9 Luxx

Patrol Scenario Apprehension

  • 1st Place: Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Tyler Baker & K9 Bodie
  • 2nd Place: Carson City Sheriff’s Office Deputy Dylan Etchegaray & K9 Braum
  • 3rd Place: Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Matt Galvin & K9 Blady
