Both Nevada State Museums in Carson City will celebrate Nevada Day with free admission on Friday, Oct. 28 — the observed holiday — as well as on Saturday, Oct. 29, the day of the Nevada Day Parade along Carson Street in downtown Carson City.

Offering plenty of history for the birthday party, the Nevada State Railroad Museum’s (NSRM) historic McKeen motor car will operate both Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The parade ends at the NSRM’s doorstep, corner of Fairview Drive and U.S. Highway 395, which is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Train rides are $8 for adults, $4 for ages 4-11 and museum members, and free for ages 3 and younger.

Visit the Nevada state museums web site here for more information about admissions and exhibits. The Nevada State Museum and the Nevada State Railroad Museum, both in Carson City, can also be found on Facebook here and here.
