Firefighters representing agencies throughout the Silver State paid their respects to the fallen at the Nevada Firefighters Memorial in Carson City’s Mills Park Saturday morning, adding two more names to plaques adorning the walls of the memorial.

A plaque bearing the name of Clark County Firefighter John Foster was added to the list of other Nevada firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Another plaque added Firefighter Michael Heidemann to the Distinguished Service wall of the memorial.

The Nevada Firefighters Memorial is a tribute to fallen firefighters throughout the state’s history, ensuring their loved ones and the communities in which they served that their memories will not be forgotten.

Saturday’s memorial ceremony concluded a week-long observance of National Fire Prevention Week in Nevada.
