Carson City deputies arrested an 18-year-old Wednesday afternoon for domestic battery first offense and destruction of property.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hot Springs Road on report of a domestic battery in which the victim had been scratched on the face by his girlfriend.

When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that the girlfriend had left the area and was on foot heading toward the new apartment complex in the area.

They noted that the boyfriend had fresh red scratches on the side of his face, and he told deputies he’d been sitting in his room reviewing homework on his school-issued laptop when the girlfriend “came into the room mad” and smacked him on the back of his head.

He said he stood up and used the side of his body to push her away from him, at which point she kicked him twice, once on the back and once on the ribs, then scratched his face.

He said she then grabbed a stick from the room and hit his laptop, breaking it, then moved on to breaking items throughout the room, throwing items at him and at the walls.

While he was telling deputies what happened, the girlfriend continuously called him according to the report. Deputies told him to answer and ask her to return to the apartment, but she refused because the “cops were at the house” and disconnected the call.

However, a few minutes later, she called back and allowed deputies to speak with her. She again refused, stating that she hadn’t done anything, and the deputies told her they needed to get her side of the story as part of their investigation. She eventually agreed to return.

She told deputies she’d gotten angry because her mother had asked the boyfriend for a ride to the store, which she said bothered her and started an argument. She told deputies they’d been dating for approximately one year, and said the boyfriend had pushed her, and it “made her mad.”

She told deputies that it’s normal for her to get so angry that she loses control, and after the boyfriend pushed her, she scratched his face and broke his laptop. She said she also attempted to break his television by throwing a shoe at it, but it hadn’t worked.

The incident was witnessed by a younger juvenile on scene, who confirmed they had seen the girlfriend walk into the room and hit the boyfriend on the back of the head, which started the incident.

Deputies determined the girlfriend to be the primary aggressor and told her she was under arrest. However, she pulled away from deputies and threw herself on the floor, “flailing her arms and legs to avoid arrest,” according to the report. She said she didn’t want male deputies touching her, but the deputy placing her under arrest was a female deputy. Despite this, she continued to pull away, screaming and yelling for her mother.

Deputies were ultimately able to place her in handcuffs and escorted her to the patrol car, at which point she “again refused to enter and began pulling away, stiffening her legs so we could not place her in the patrol car,” according to the report.

She was eventually transported to the jail and transferred to detention staff without further incident.

Mound House woman arrested for cocaine, possession of a dangerous weapon

A 20-year-old Mound House woman was arrested early Thursday morning after deputies found cocaine in her vehicle along with a dangerous weapon.

According to the report, Daleah Warren Huante was stopped just after 1 a.m. Thursday morning after a deputy said she did not come to a complete stop at Curry and Fifth.

During the stop, Huante appeared “very nervous,” with visibly shaking hands and avoided eye contact according to the report. When she reached for her registration and insurance, the deputy stated they saw a “ white chalky powder” spread around the center console area, later identified as cocaine.

Huante allegedly admitted to using the cocaine, saying she’d used “only a little” about two hours previous while celebrating a 21st birthday with a friend.

She allowed deputies to search the vehicle, and the reporting deputy stated they found suspected cocaine on the center console, in cracks of the seats, on top of a cup lid, and “smeared” on the back of her phone.

The deputy stated “it appeared as if cocaine had been dumped/blown all over the front interior of the vehicle.”

On a search of her purse, deputies also located black brass knuckles in the side pocket; possession of which is a gross misdemeanor charge.

She was taken into custody without incident.

Bail: $2,500

Gardnerville man arrested for cocaine

A 39-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Wednesday evening for possession of cocaine and paraphernalia after deputies were dispatched on report of two suspicious vehicles at a Roop Street gas station and convenience store.

According to the report, deputies were dispatched just after 7 p.m. stating that two suspicious vehicles, a red Ford Flex and a black Chrysler 300, were parked at the store with their engines running. The reporting party stated one of the drivers was an employee and was known to “deal drugs.”

Upon arrival, deputies spoke to one of the men in his vehicle and asked what he was doing, and he said he was waiting for his friend who was inside the store.

He also said he was an employee, and he was just there to check his schedule.

A man identified as the “friend” exited the store and began walking northbound on Roop Street. The deputy asked the man in the vehicle if that was his friend, and he confirmed. Another deputy went to attempt to find him, but reported he ran and they’d lost him.

A short time later, a 911 call said a man was hiding at the Eagle Landing Apartments across the street.

Two deputies searched the area and eventually found him.

At the same time, a Deputy K9 was dispatched who provided a free air sniff of the area and provided a positive alert to both vehicles. A search of the man and his vehicle did not return anything; however, a search of the friend’s vehicle returned with discovering presumed cocaine in the center console on a black scale, a clear methamphetamine pipe, Narcan, and hypodermic needles in the trunk.

The man denied ownership of the cocaine, but admitted the pipe was new and that since he was off parole and probation now, he had been “partying.” When asked about the needles, he told deputies he started using steroids.

He was taken into custody for possession of the cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Two arrested for meth possession

A 39-year-old Silver Springs man and a 29-year-old Carson City man were arrested at around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night after deputies observed a black pickup traveling west on E. William Street with suspended registration.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and the driver, identified as the Carson City man, provided his license and registration and appeared cooperative. The passenger, identified as the Silver Springs man, avoided eye contact, was sweating, and appeared nervous according to the report.

A records check showed the passenger was an ex-felon with a history of narcotics and firearms offenses and was under Nevada Parole and Probation supervision.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in deputies locating an eyeglasses case containing presumed methamphetamine as well as a glass pipe with residue inside behind the passenger seat.

Both men denied ownership, and they were taken into custody.

However, while being booked, the Carson City man allegedly told deputies, “Just let him go, it was all mine,” according to deputies.

However, they told him it was too late and the courts would have to sort it out.

Each was booked for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia with a bail of $3,637.
