The annual Nevada Day Treasure Hunt is back! Today is Day One, and the first clue has been provided.
The Nevada Day Treasure Hunt mission is to “inspire people to learn and embrace the surprising and eccentric history of Northern Nevada, while exploring and enjoying the vast beauty of the Silver State.”
The Nevada Day Treasure Hunt Inc. will be providing clues to the location of a hidden medallion, and the first hunter to find it will win $1,000. To participate, read the daily written clues published Tuesday through Saturday to find the medallion.
Rules:
The medallion will be hidden outside on public property within Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, or Washoe Counties. It will not be placed on school grounds, in cemeteries or graveyards, inside buildings, or on museum property. The medallion will not be buried, and no structures need to be disturbed or climbed to find it.
Treasure hunting is restricted to daylight hours, and participants must respect others’ privacy, property, and personal space while searching.THE MEDALLION WILL NOT BE HIDDEN ON PRIVATE PROPERTY AND SEARCHING ON PRIVATE PROPERTY IS EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED.
Treasure hunters must obey any and all posted signs, ensure that any gates for public areas are closed securely upon exiting if the gate was closed upon the treasure hunter’s entry, and respect all property and environment. Areas being searched should be left undisturbed, in the same condition as before the search.
Any treasure hunter found to have violated these rules, in Organizer’s sole discretion, will be ineligible to win the prize, even if the treasure hunter finds the medallion.
