Carson City area casinos saw a gaming revenue increase of nearly 9 percent in August compared to the same time last year, according to figures released Friday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Casinos in Carson, City, Gardnerville, Minden and all other areas of Douglas County except for Stateline had a gaming revenue amount of $9,390,210 or an 8.98 percent increase from August 2016.

Statewide, Nevada saw a 14.91 increase in gaming revenue.

Elsewhere, casinos at south shore Lake Tahoe saw gaming revenue, also known as “win” increase 7.02 percent while casinos at North Lake Tahoe saw a 10.39 percent increase over August 2016 figures.

Washoe County, Reno and Sparks all saw gaming revenue increases for the month.
