Gaming revenue at Carson City area casinos fell nearly 2 percent for the month of August while gaming profits at Lake Tahoe casinos continued to soar, showing the month’s best statewide performance, according to figures released Thursday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Casinos in Carson City and Carson Valley brought in $8.6 million for the month in revenue, down 1.95 percent from August 2015 figures. Statewide, Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $860,696,184 for the month. This amounts to a 5.23 percent decrease compared to August 2015.

Meanwhile casinos at Stateline south shore Lake Tahoe saw a “gaming win” of 26.6 percent for the month. North Tahoe casinos saw a 2 percent increase.
