UPDATE: Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called early Saturday evening to a fatal motorcycle crash in the area of East Nye and College Parkway.
The crash was reported at 5:52 p.m. CPR was done on the adult male victim at the scene where the rider died, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. The crash reportedly involves a motorcycle rider that crashed through a fence. No other vehicles are involved, said Furlong.
Westbound traffic is closed at Nye Lane and at College Parkway and Otha Street.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find other routes. Delays are expected as the crash is under investigation and will be so for the next few hours. Nevada Highway Patrol has been notified.
This weekend is the Fall Street Vibrations 2025 motorcycle rally, an annual event with venues in Carson City, Reno and Virginia City.
Meanwhile, a second crash on College Parkway that happened three hours from the fatal crash, was reported at 8:21 p.m. in which two motorcycle riders suffered injuries with Care Flight responding.
Traffic is closed at Airport Road due to the second crash. Motorists should stay clear of the area and find alternate routes.
