On Saturday, Sept. 22, Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space hosted its first full moon guided hike at Prison Hill. While the department does have multiple guided hikes throughout the season, this was the first hike guided during the full moon.

There were seven hikers in attendance. The group had a beautiful overlook of the city on both sides of Prison Hill through Dead Truck Canyon. The event started at 6:30 p.m. and ended around 8:30 p.m.

Participants had the great experience of hiking back by moonlight. More hikes are scheduled throughout the upcoming months that people can find more information about at https://www.facebook.com/CCPRDept/ and postings on Carson Now.
