The following arrests were made Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015. All information for the crime log (unless otherwise noted) comes from the arrest reports supplied by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, and is considered by law to be public information. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The policy of Carson Now is to name anyone who is arrested for a felony offense.
— A 23-year-old Carson City man, Stefan Lee Houser, was arrested Thursday, 3:46 p.m. in the area of Baker and Stafford streets on a felony charge of parole violation and a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. He is being held without bail for parole violation. Bail for the domestic battery charge, $3,137.
— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 2:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of East Long Street on misdemeanor charges of driving on a suspended license, driving on expired registration, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and a moving traffic violation. Bail: $1,623.
— A 44-year-old Murrieta, Calif., man was arrested Thursday, 11:28 p.m. in the 2700 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued Feb. 29, 2008. According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a motel for a fight in progress. Officers made contact with the reporting person who said he and another man got into a fight and that the man punched him in the face. He said he did not want to press charges but called 911 to ensure his safety, the arrest report states.
A deputy then spoke with a motel manager who said it was the 44-year-old man who was the one who started yelling at the other man, and that he never saw him get hit and was present during the verbal altercation.
Carson City dispatch advised the California man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Wells, Nev. for failure to appear. He was placed into custody. Bail: $427.
— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday, 2:32 p.m. in the area of South Roop and Randell Drive on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the victim was walking southbound on Roop when the suspect came up from behind him and then slapped the man with an open hand to his face.
Two witnesses said they observed the woman hitting the man. The witnesses said they observed the woman then push the victim to the street, attempting to hit him. The victim said he attempted to get away from the woman and told her numerous times to leave him alone. The suspect told officers that the man struck her twice with a closed fist.
The victim told deputies he had lunch with the suspect earlier and that they had been in an on and off again relationship for years. Bail: $3,137.
