FALLON — The Nevada Press Association awarded two first‑place honors and the coveted “Editorial of the Year” award this past weekend to This Is Reno in the Urban Daily news publication category.

Carson City resident Mary Claire Boucher, along with publisher Bob Conrad, secured first place in the photo essay/gallery category for their striking visual coverage of the 2024 Schellraiser festival in eastern Nevada. Schellraiser is a festival that drew audiences and artists from locales as far as Denmark, the U.K., and Mexico. The full gallery of images from the festival is available on This Is Reno.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized alongside This Is Reno for highlighting arts and culture in our rural counties,” said Boucher. “My passion for White Pine County runs deep—it’s my familial home—and I’m proud to spotlight stories that bring people back to Nevada’s heartlands.”

A Nevada native and the founder & principal of MCBCreative, Inc., Boucher brings the creative sensibility of a photographer into the visual brand identity development and marketing she does for her clients.

Additionally, Boucher is a regular contributing photographer for Edible Reno‑Tahoe and has collaborated with City Lifestyle Reno on feature photography.
