This Saturday, Sept. 20, the Carson City Airport will host this year’s Aviation Festival and Open House. Each year this event is hosted to help raise awareness about the vital role aviation and aerospace play in our community. The theme for this year’s event is Flying & Driving the Hills of Nevada.

The Aviation Festival is a free family-friendly event at Carson City Airport featuring various airplanes and military exhibits, static displays, aviation education along with youth activities, local vendors including over 20 craft vendors, nonprofits, food trucks, and live music from the Moxy Ruckus Band. Gates open at 9 a.m. with the opening ceremony being held at 10 a.m.

The Aviation Festival is an important event for the community and helps support local nonprofit aviation youth programs, like the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Young Eagles program.  Carson City Airport’s mission is to keep Carson City, Nev., flying, and they do this by creating a welcoming destination for visitors and business travelers from around the globe.

Carson City Airport holds its annual open house as shown in this file photo.

When Corey Jenkins, the General Manager of the Carson City Airport, was asked about this year’s upcoming event, he stated, “This year the event will be highlighting recreational aviation that is especially enjoyable in our beautiful state with wide open areas to explore.  Bush planes, float planes, and search and rescue teams will be on display to showcase this unique and special area of aviation.”

Join us for the aviation exhibits, stay for the live music, and good times on the tarmac.  There will be a giant tent with tables and chairs in front of the stage to allow guests to sit and enjoy the food and festivities.

Don’t forget to share this event with your friends, family, and neighbors. We would hate for them to miss out on all the fun at the 2025 Carson City Airport’s Aviation Festival.
