The countdown is on! With just 43 days until the 2025 Nevada Day Parade on Saturday, November 1, organizers are calling on all parade participants to start planning their decorations. This year’s parade promises to be more vibrant than ever with the return of the Best Parade Decoration Contest.
To support participants, the Nevada Gift Shop in Carson City is offering convenient, ready-to-use decoration kits for purchase at $28 each. These kits make it easy for organizations and businesses to bring extra flair to their floats and vehicles.
The Nevada Day Parade, the largest celebration of statehood in the United States, draws tens of thousands of spectators each year. The 2025 theme, “Wild Wild West,” will set the stage for a day filled with floats, marching bands, community groups, and historic reenactments honoring Nevada’s heritage.
This year’s contest judging will include multiple categories voted on by the public as well as parade sponsors. Categories include: Best School Entry, Best Youth Group, Best Organization or Club, Best Business & Commercial Entry, Best Use of Parade Theme, and Best Overall. Winners will be recognized and featured on Nevada Day’s social media channels.

Parade participants are reminded to have their entries decorated on parade day to be considered for the contest.
