I Love Carson City

Time for another wine walk, Carson City, thanks to the Downtown Business Association. Saturday, Sept. 5, the festivities begin at 1 p.m.
Grab a wine glass, map, and hand stamp at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jack’s, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Touched by an Angel, or Bella Fiore. You have until 5 p.m. to hit as many stops as possible before the raffle begins. Every first Saturday over 30 shops, restaurants, businesses, and organizations stock up on wine and goodies and throw open their doors to the crowds of merry-makers. It’s always a great reason to explore downtown.
The wine walk runs from 1pm to 5pm. Sign up at the Carson Nugget, Cactus Jacks, Bella Fiore Wines, Carson Jewelry and Loan, Remedy’s Bar, or Touched by Angels.
For $15 participants will receive a commemorative wine glass and endless reasons to stroll through Downtown Carson City sipping and tasting the afternoon away. Bring your wine walk glass with the Carson City Logo on it for a $2 discount. With paid admission you will receive a hand stamp, glass, map of participating stops, and a chance to win raffle prizes.
Stops are as far north as the Tap-Shack, Just Brew it, and Touched by Angels, as far south as Caterpillar’s Hookah Lounge, Mama Em’s Bell, Book, and Candle, and RCM Realty, with plenty in between. Don’t forget about participants off the beaten Curry and Carson St. paths: the Brewery Arts Center, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, and the Elks Club would love for you to stop by. Don’t miss out on Jeffery’s famous Sangria at Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery.
This month you’ll enjoy music by Russell Ketenjian at Bella Fiore Wine. Comma Coffee is glad to welcome Hallie Kirk and her vintage folk music. Meet author and historian Cindy Southerland at Morley’s Books and learn about Lone Mountain Cemetery. Next to the Nevada Day store you’ll find Artisan Alley with authors, artists, crafters and more.
The fun won’t stop at 5 p.m., though. Alatte Coffee and Wine features live music from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Laxalt Plaza, just south of the Carson Nugget. Mo’z Motley Blues Band will be there to get the Saturday night party started.
The Downtown Business Association has a new website to keep you updated with the great businesses making up the core of our historical downtown. You can check it out at www.DowntownCarson.org. You can also follow the DBA on Facebook here. Be safe, Carson City, and have a wonderful wine walk!
