The Comstock Residents Association’s 6th annual Labor Day Rummage Sale and BBQ is this weekend. The event takes place on Saturday, Sept. 3 and Sunday Sept. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Silver City Park at 385 High Street (adjacent to the community center/school house).
You’ll meet some great people and find remarkable bargains on furniture, housewares, books, art and more. The food is always good, with lots to choose from.
Live music sweetens the event, with performances by The Ukulocos, Bob Elston, Allander/Stornetta, Mylo McCormick, and others.
Joe McCarthy of the Comstock Residents Association notes that there will be a BBQ “in the shade of the trees, and it will be the usual blend of old friends, good food and great bargains, so we hope to see you all there.”
Proceeds help the effort to protect the Virginia City National Historic Landmark, which encompasses Virginia City, Gold Hill, Old Town Dayton and Silver City.
Where is Silver City? Silver City is located on the Comstock within one of the nation’s largest federally designated historic districts. The town is 4 miles from Virginia City, 12 miles from Carson City, and 29 miles from Reno.
