A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday around 10 p.m. in the area of the Catalina Apartments on three warrants after deputies were patrolling in the area and spotted the man riding a motorcycle with expired registration.

According to the arrest report, a SET deputy was patrolling in the area in an unmarked vehicle when they pulled into a gas station at the corner of Roop and Hot Springs.

They observed a motorcycle and rider at the gas pump, and said that after making eye contact with the deputy, the man “put his head down and it appeared as if he was trying to hide his face,” and that the “unusual behavior caught my attention.”

The deputy circled around behind the motorcycle and ran a records check on the license plate, which was registered in California and the sticker had “02” on it.

As the rider exited the parking lot onto Hot Springs Road, he “took off at a high rate of speed”, and the deputy followed the bike down Pine Street and activated their lights in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The motorcycle slid around a turn and continued northbound on Pine going behind the Catalina Apartments.

The deputy stated that they had already slowed down and knew they were not going to pursue the motorcycle, but just as they were getting ready to deactivate their emergency lights, they observed the rider hit a speed bump and lose control of the motorcycle.

The man laid the bike down, and as the deputy was approaching, he was attempting to lift the bike off the ground.

The deputy drew their gun and the man complied with orders, and was placed in handcuffs.

He provided his name and dispatch advised he had three warrants out for his arrest for domestic battery and petit larceny both issued May 2025, and the third for violating his suspended sentence issued July 2025.

He was taken into custody and cleared for any medical issues. His motorcycle was towed.

Man arrested for domestic battery after allegedly punching woman, attempting to fight bystanders who tried to intervene

— A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday night in the area of Park Street and N. Carson Street for domestic battery first.

According to the arrest report, the man was arrested just before midnight after deputies were dispatched on report of a domestic dispute in the 1900 block of N. Carson Street. The reporting party stated that there was a man and a woman arguing and that the man had thrown a rock at a white pickup.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the woman who said that she had been hanging out at her mother’s house and “then ran back to her own home,” and when deputies asked if she’d been arguing with the man, she said no. She said she was recently injured by another deputy who had arrested her earlier in the month, and that she’d been pushed into a patrol car where she fell and injured her shin.

The reporting deputy asked if she needed medical attention and she said she did not, and that the man was going to take her to the hospital later. The deputy asked again if she’d been arguing with the man, and she said no.

Deputies then spoke with the man, who confirmed the woman’s story about being pushed and falling. He said he had captured the incident on camera, but when asked if he would show them the video, he said no, “he wanted to show it to the courts.” The deputy informed the man of the process for filing complaints, and then the deputies on scene left the area.

However, a few minutes later, the woman called dispatch stating that two men in a white truck were harassing them and trying to fight the man. She told deputies she was near an inn in the 1300 block of N. Carson Street.

Deputies later located the pair walking on Carson Street and approaching E. Park Street. The man told deputies that there was a white truck driving recklessly down Carson Street, and that the two individuals inside it had wanted to fight him.

At the same time, deputies were informed that the driver of the white pickup had contacted dispatch, and that they were at the McDonald’s on N. Carson Street.

Deputies went to the McDonald’s and spoke with the two occupants of the truck, who said that a couple of hours prior, they’d observed the man hitting the woman. One of the individuals said they’d heard a woman yelling, and when he looked over, he saw a woman on the floor and the man standing over her and hitting her. He said he attempted to tell the man to stop hitting her, and the man threw a can of beer at his truck.

He said he drove away, and the man continued hitting the woman. He said the man and woman had been outside the inn the deputies had responded to initially, and that other bystanders were helping and calling 911.

He said that after he finished getting food, he was driving northbound on N. Carson Street when he saw the woman and the man walking southbound, and that the man had started yelling at him again, which is when he contacted dispatch.

Deputies spoke with the passenger of the truck, who confirmed the story, and said that at one point when they had asked the woman if she needed help, they’d both run into their motel room.

Deputies later located the man in the area of N. Carson and W. Park Street and took him into custody. They asked the woman again if she needed medical treatment, and she declined. The deputies noted the man had red knuckles, and photos were taken of his hands and uploaded to evidence.
